Three Players To Seek A Change From Stamford Bridge

Several names have been speculated in the press when it comes to Chelsea departures. First there was Hazard then Oscar. After that there was Ivanovic and Fabregas. Now, three new names join the list. According to the Daily Express one of those three is Nemanja Matic. The Serbian, who was one of the club’s best players during last year’s Premier League charge, is reportedly looking to cut his deal short. Apparently his lack of form made him decide it is time to leave again. The 27-year-old is under contract until 2019 but his mind is set on a new horizon. The reason behind his possible departure is the atmosphere surrounding Chelsea’s stadium. The insecurities, the changes and the unknown future have taken a toll on the midfielder who feels that it might be time to say goodbye to the Blues. He is expected to stay until June but no longer than that. Nothing is set in stone of course, as a new manager is expected to take over. No one knows who that person is but all signs point to Diego Simeone. If he does come, there’s no telling what the future holds for players like Matic, who have the skill but for now seem to be slightly lacking form and a little confidence.

The second player on the list is Pedro who is finding it very hard to adapt to the Premier League and especially to Chelsea’s game. It was obvious that his great start was due to the energy in him created by the excitement of a move away from Barcelona. With time, issues emerged. The Spaniard does not seem to find his place in Hiddink’s starting eleven and struggles to read his teammates. Chelsea has a totally different take on football than Barcelona which shows with Pedro who only knew one way of playing the game up until last year. A return to Spain is what he wants apparently. The problem is that the only club you would see signing Pedro other than Barca is Atletico Madrid. He could be part of a swap that brings Griezmann to Stamford Bridge but that`s kind of a shot in the dark. Too many things can interfere with such a move.

The last player to consider leaving is Bertrand Traore who is in contact with Marseille. The 20-year-old gets little to no time on the pitch which is making him doubt his future with Chelsea. He as well will probably wait until the summer to see what is going to happen. He might also want to stick around as Remy and Falcao are probably out of Hiddink’s plans. This leaves two striker positions open, only one of which might be filled this winter.
