Terry Keen On Ending His Career On Stamford Bridge

Chelsea’s 34 year old captain looks keen on ending his career while playing for the Blues. Terry who is having one of his best seasons yet is going to renegotiate his contract which is about to end in June. According to the Daily Star, the defender publicly announced he is ready to sit down and talk about a one year extension to his current agreement. It is going to be difficult though to handle negotiations given what happened with Frank Lampard last year. The Chelsea legend was not granted the possibility of ending his career at the club and was transferred even though he made it clear that he would have preferred to stay.

Similarities between Terry and Lampard’s situation don’t stop there. Lampard also had an amazing year despite being one of the oldest players in the lot. Even so, he was denied the chance to continue and ended up playing for City where he is still doing a great job.

Terry underlined the fact that his performances recommend him for yet another season but also pointed out that there are more important deals to be taken care of. He made a reference to Hazard’s contract and suggested that he is well aware that players like the Belgium star are priorities for the club. Chelsea’s captain has a great chance of continuing for at least one more year given the fact that Mourinho has been pushing to transfer Varane from Real who looks like the perfect replacement for the skipper.
