Star Transfers Put Pressure On Mourinho

Chelsea failed to win any trophy last year despite having one of the strongest lots in the Premier League. Even so, it was Mourinho’s first year back and winning something was not easy especially with the changes which took place at Stamford Bridge. According to the Daily Mail, the Portuguese boss has no reason for missing out on glory at the end of the 2014-2015 season.

Former Chelsea manager, Ruud Gullit insisted that the Blues could not ask for more in order to win competitions. The lot is stronger than it has been in years and the competition for a spot in the starting line-up is fierce. All the gaps which were left within the team after Lampard, Cole, Luiz, Eto’o and Demba Ba left were filled by top notch players all of whom have already experienced the highest level of pressure while competing for trophies like the Champions League.

Gullit also pointed out that Mourinho has not gone one season without winning something except for this year when he seems to have had a bit of bad luck. With players like Fabregas and Diego Costa, the situation is very unlikely to repeat itself. The Portuguese manager is well-known for making documented transfers which have always proven efficient. The only problem is the fact that Chelsea have not played too many games so as to form some in-game relations. It will take time for the new players to get in tune with Hazard, Terry or Oscar who are the backbone of the lot.
