Should Chelsea Sell Cuadrado? Might They Sign Mkhitaryan?

It`s hard to say what will happen with Juan Cuadrado when he returns to Stamford Bridge. The 28-year-old who was signed by Chelsea in February 2015 failed to settle and was sent to play for Juventus where he became one of the key players who contributed to claiming the Serie A trophy. He did not get to play under Conte’s supervision and might not get to do so in the future either. According to the Daily Star, Barcelona are interested in signing the Colombian who is not looking too keen on playing in the Premier League again. He would have to face tough competition if he does decide to stick with the Blues. Willian and Pedro are dominating the flank and it is unlikely to see Cuadrado return just to be Conte’s third choice.

There’s one more piece of news that might point to Cuadrado’s departure. Apparently, Borussia Dortmund’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan has refused to extend his contract and his next destination is supposed to be London. Arsenal have also been linked to the Armenian midfielder but it is unlikely for him to join the Gunners given the fact that they already have Ozil and several other midfielders playing in the same position as Mkhitaryan.

Even though he is at heart a right winger, the 27-year-old Dortmund man is very versatile. He is excellent as a no.10 and can also play on the left. If he were to join the Blues, Conte could use him in a variety of positions so the signing could make sense if Mkhitaryan prefers to play in a Blue shirt rather than a red one.
