Should Chelsea Include Oscar In Pogba Deal?

Paul Pogba might actually be for sale despite Juventus denying rumors regarding the Frenchman’s return to the Premier League. According to the Daily Express, the Italians could agree to letting their most sought after player join Chelsea as long as the Blues pay £70m and also add Oscar to the deal. Even though this offer sounds more like a way of making Abramovich back down, there is a change the two clubs could end up sealing the deal. Currently Oscar is valued at about half of the money Juventus are receiving. This means Pogba is valued by his club at £100m which is quite a lot for a 22 year old, regardless of how talented he is.

Financially speaking Chelsea could close the deal. Pogba’s salary is expected to be somewhere around £8.5m which would also be something the Blues could match. The big question is if the 22 year old is really worth sacrificing a world class player such as Oscar. The £70m should be more than enough. Requesting to have the Brazilian as well is too much considering how brilliant he proved he can be.

There is also the issue of integrating Pogba into the lot. The Frenchman has a strong personality and may  have a hard time sharing the locker room with Hazard who is expected to be the next captain after Terry leaves. There are too many unknown pieces to this very expensive puzzle which might not even look as great as expected when finished. It would be best to maybe spend the money on a new striker and a new defender. Names like Cavani or Hummels come to mind among others. They could both be purchased without sacrificing Oscar which sounds a lot better than spending £100m on a 22 year old midfielder.
