Should Chelsea Go For Manchester City Power Houses?

Chelsea could be interested in making a package deal with Manchester City who are most than likely to unload Dzeko and Yaya Toure after the two decided it is time for a new challenge. According to Metro, the two are no longer interested in playing for the Citizens especially after a very poor season which pointed towards a possible new set of arrivals at the Etihad Stadium. The problem with securing the two players’ signature is Chelsea’s policy regarding footballers over 30 years of age. Contracts will not be longer than one year which can be a problem especially for the Ivorian who is 32. Even though he is a brilliant player it is very unlikely to see Mourinho offer him a deal that satisfies his needs. City’s former main man would be right up the Portuguese boss’s alley in terms of transfers as seen in his previous experiences with other clubs. He always made sure the team has at least one or two seasoned players like Carvalho, Eto’o or Xabi Alonso around. Unfortunately it is very unlikely to get Toure to accept a 1 year contract when he has at least two good years ahead.

Dzeko on the other hand could be a whole lot easier to convince to come to Stamford Bridge. He is the type of player Chelsea are missing right now. He is massive, has a good scoring rate and could provide decent competition for Remy and Costa. He is 29 so he could be given a 2-3 year contract which may be appealing for a striker who has always been the underdog at the Etihad despite managing to score 72 times and provide 39 assists in his 189 games played for City.
