Shakhtar Willing To Let Douglas Costa Join Chelsea

Chelsea’s unfortunate results over the past month seem to have determined Mourinho to reopen talks with some of the club’s former targets. Shakhtar’s Douglas Costa might be among the first to seal a deal as the Brazilian already expressed his desire to play at Stamford Bridge. According to NBC Sports, the 24 year old will start negotiations very soon in order to make sure an agreement is reached before the beginning of the transfer window. Chelsea have been interested in the right winger for a while now and will probably push for a deal. Costa is under contract with Shakhtar until 2018 but recently made his desire to play for the Blues a public thing.

The winger is very close to Willian who also spent his most successfully pre-Chelsea years in the Ukraine playing for the team from Donetsk. Even though the two basically will have to battle it out for a spot in the starting eleven, Willian still looks keen on having his fellow compatriot playing for the Blues. The only thing that might make Costa unnecessary is Cuadrado’s form. If the Columbian proves he is able to improve and top his Fiorentina performances, the Brazilian’s transfer might not go through. It is still to be seen what will happen since there are a couple of months left until the summer transfer window opens. One thing is for sure though: Chelsea are the only ones who could block this move considering the fact that Costa’s dream is to come to the Premier League and play for the Blues.
