Romeu Pens New Chelsea Deal!

The 22-year-old Oriol Romeu was expected to make a big impact at Stamford Bridge due to a burgeoning reputation after signing from Barcelona in July 2011. After making 33 appearances for the club, the defensive enforcer missed a large chunk of the 2012-13 season to a knee injury.

He has since spent some time on loan at Valencia last summer but was not expected to make the grade at Chelsea. However, the former Barcelona player has now signed a new three-year deal with the club, according to Daily Mail.

The Spanish U-21 international featured for 71 minutes in Chelsea’s 5-0 thrashing of Wycombe Wanderers in a pre-season friendly. He looks to have impressed Mourinho enough for the boss to offer him fresh terms which the Spanish player readily signed.

Do you think Jose Mourinho should give Romeu a chance to impress in the first team next season?
