Pragmatic Chelsea End Title Race And Win Their 4th PL Title

Chelsea looked like they lacked concentration at the beginning of the game and allowed Crystal Palace to have a few runs towards Courtois. They did not pose much of a threat though as Ivanovic and Azpilicueta were sharp as always. Cuadrado looked a bit out of touch with the rest of the team which was expected given the little time he spent on the pitch. He did not have much time to prove himself either as Mourinho decided to hold on the 1 goal advantage and sent in Obi Mikel to replace the Columbian.

There is not much to say about the match other than the fact that the defense proved to be the main element in Mourinho’s strategy once more. The Portuguese boss turned Stamford Bridge into a fortress managing an unbelievable home record counting only 1 defeat in 96 games. Even though the Blues were not at full throttle throughout the game, they showed maturity and excellent focus. They managed to win the title after an impressive 247 days on top of the standings and with 3 games to spare.

Chelsea did what they know best which is to win. It will be very pleasant to see the team play in coming  years after they start feeling more comfortable with one another. They will not only bring results back to London but they will also put on a show. With players like Hazard and Costa, fans will have a lot to look forward to when it comes to future games.

Player Ratings: Chelsea: Courtois 7, Ivanovic 7, Cahill 6, Terry 6, Azpilicueta 7, Cuadrado 6, Matic 6, Willian 7, Fabregas 6, Hazard 6, Drogba 6. Subs: Luis 6, Zouma 6, Mikel 6.

Perhaps most imortantly Chelsea have only received 2 red cards so fast this season.
