Pedro Open To Chelsea Stay

Chelsea forward Pedro didn’t have the best of seasons during the 15/16 term. Then again, did any Blues’ player really shine? Either way, the disappointment of last season has left many of Chelsea’s stars in doubt over their future. Of course, many of these rumoured outgoings are media outlets reporting news with very little substance to back it. However, in the case of Pedro, there is a high chance that the Spaniard could leave Stamford Bridge just 1 year after joining.

Pedro himself concedes he wasn’t at his best in his first season with Chelsea, and spent most of Euro 2016 sat on the bench for Spain. But his drop in form hasn’t been bad enough for him not to be linked with a move back to Barcelona, the club he left to join Chelsea in a £22 million deal.

The Blues have a new manager in Antonio Conte, and the Italian is almost certainly going to put his own spin on things when he takes charge of the club. The transfer window will certainly be an interesting time for the club, and they have already shown that they mean business – securing Batshuayi last week for £33 million.

Pedro has spoken out recently about the upcoming season, but gave no insight to a potential transfer away, only stating that he looks forward to the challenge ahead with Chelsea.

“I’m very motivated (about returning to) Chelsea to and taking the team back to where they should be,” Pedro told Marca.

“(My first season) was one of adaptation and difficulty, but I want to have a great (second) campaign.”

“The Premier League will be very competitive with coaches like Pep Guardiola (arriving).”
