Patrick Bamford Insists On Making Mourinho’s First Team

Patrick Bamford has been the revelation of the Championship so far, managing to score 19 times and provide 8 assists for Middlesbrough. The youngster who has yet to make any appearances for Chelsea, is determined to make the step to the big leagues and start next to Hazard, Terry and Courtois. According to the Daily Express, spending two seasons on loan is enough for Bamford who will be ready to face Premier League and Champions League defenders. Named the Championship’s Player of the Year, the 21 year old recently revealed he is looking to turn his dream of scoring for Chelsea into reality.

It could be the perfect moment for Bamford to stake his claim for staying at Stamford Bridge. Drogba is getting on a bit and may be on his way out plus Remy and Costa seem to have a predisposition for getting injured a lot. Currently Chelsea have no available strikers, with all three being affected by injuries. With that in mind, Bamford could definitely be an option. Unfortunately for him, the summer will come with a lot of big chances for Chelsea to sign important names. Cavani, Benzema, Dybala and several others will be available to buy as most are looking to change teams.

Hopefully Bamford will not turn into the next Lukaku. The Belgian striker impressed while on loan but failed to deliver when playing for Chelsea. He also started pushing for a spot in Chelsea’s starting squad and had a fallout with the club’s management after insinuating Mourinho has a problem with him.
