Mourinho To Sign Tough Competition For Oscar

Young midfielder, Ross Barkley has managed to make quite an impression during the past few years in which he managed to become a team regular for a team which last year battled for the Champions League spots. The 21 year old who for the past two years has been a key player for Everton, is now close to a transfer to Stamford Bridge where Mourinho is planning to set him up against Oscar in a duel which could produce only positive things. Barkley is currently under contract until 2018 but could be tempted by a move to Chelsea. Even though he is from Liverpool, it is very unlikely he will turn down an offer from Mourinho if Everton decide to let him leave.

First contact does not suggest a positive outcome for Chelsea though as Everton seem to want £50million. According to Metro, the Toffees are planning to keep the 21 year old for at least one more season after failing to keep up with the Premier League top ten. Everton are probably worried they will finish next year even lower after struggling to get away from the relegation zone this season.

Currently Chelsea do not have anyone with the same profile to that of Oscar and a substitute like Barkley would be very welcome. The Brazilian has had drops in form and will probably benefit a lot from having a strong competitor to face during training and also for a spot in the squad.
