Mourinho Snubs Transfer Rumors Linked To Chelsea

Chelsea have been linked to a series of players, most of whom could fit perfectly in the Blues’ squad. Pogba, Varane and many others have been considered primary targets for the upcoming transfer period in which Abramovich is expected to spend big after falling short of Champions League glory. According to the Daily Star though, Mourinho is not planning any big moves despite his interest for targets who cost over £40million.

It is hard to believe though that Chelsea will not make at least one major bid which will most likely be for Pogba. Just like last year when Mourinho insisted no players will come or go, changes have been made and money have been spent. Fabregas, Costa and Luis made their way to London with a total amount spent just falling short of £100m in transfer fees. Add to that the fact that Cuadrado moved to Stamford Bridge this winter and you might start to doubt Mourinho’s passive attitude towards what is to come.

One reason for which the Special One does not have his mind set on starting negotiations and mentioning names is the Premier League title race which is shaping up to be just as close as the one from last year. Unfortunately back then The Blues lost the chance to finish first right at the end which is not an option this time. With the West Londoners being eliminated by PSG from the Champions League, the Premier League trophy is what they need to save this season.
