Mourinho Hails Costa Impact At Chelsea

Jose Mourinho has hailed the arrival of former Atletico Madrid superstar Diego Costa, who has already adapted to a new life in England and at Stamford Bridge as the Mirror report, as Costa scored on his full Barclays Premier League debut on Monday night vs Sean Dyche’s Burnley side.

All Premier League title contenders except Chelsea kicked off their campaigns on the weekend, and Mourinho was clearly delighted to see a win taking them three points above Manchester United after the first weekend. Mourinho has taken this transfer window by the scruff of the neck, signing and selling players in massive capital deals. David Luiz was sold to Paris Saint Germain in a bumper £50 million deal, astonishing for a central defender. However, these funds were used well as Mourinho brought in Cesc Fabregas, Costa, Didier Drogba and Filipe Luis into the side. It will be interesting to witness how Costa performs in his first year in England, where the game is far more physically demanding than in Spain but so far so good for the naturalised Spanish Brazilian. Fernando Torres still has not adjusted well at Stamford Bridge but may enjoy not being the centre of attention now that Costa has taken the striking limelight.

Costa has arrived with very high expectations, and Mourinho has no doubt the Spanish striker will live up to them this season in London.
