Ruben Loftus-Cheek seems to be the hottest name related to Stamford Bridge. The youngster has gotten a lot of positive reviews and has really raised expectations for the next season. According to the Daily Express, he has impressed Mourinho to such extent that the Portuguese boss is ready to give up pursuing Paul Pogba. Deemed as one of the best midfielders in the world, the 22 year old who is preparing to part ways with Juventus is no longer on top of the transfer list for the Blues. Apparently Loftus-Cheek will be given the chance to shine even if he is still just 19.

Mourinho spoke highly of the England international who has only made two appearances this season for Chelsea. Even so, his future looks great as the Blues’ boss informed the press Loftus-Cheek will be a strong contender for a spot in the starting eleven. Next to Ramirez, Matic, Fabregas and Mikel, the 19 year old is expected to develop well as he trains with the older players. He will be able to learn all the defensive skills he needs from Matic and improve his offensive performance by watching Fabregas.

Currently Chelsea’s midfield looks covered. They would probably be better off investing the money they would have spent on Pogba, on at least one defender such as Varane or Hummels. They will also have to bring in a new striker as Drogba is set to retire or possibly leave Stamford Bridge.
