Mourinho Backs Costa To Rediscover Scoring Touch!

Diego Costa started the season like a house on fire but his form has somewhat curtailed of late. After scoring seven goals in his first four league appearances, he has managed just two goals in his last seven games.

Despite being fully recovered from the hamstring complaint, Costa was unable to help maintain Chelsea’s undefeated streak as the Blues succumbed to their first loss of the season when they were beaten 2-1 by Newcastle United on Saturday.

However, Mourinho believes that the Spain international will once again be a regular on the score sheet as his fitness starts to improve, according to Sky Sports.

He said, “For me, the problem is not the goals – they will come as a consequence of his condition. He has to improve his condition. He was injured and had many doubts because he went a long time without training. Obviously that must have an effect on a player in the way he runs, the way he moves and in his co-ordination. I don’t think there is any problem but he has to recover.”
