Marco Van Ginkel Set To Move From Stamford Bridge

Chelsea’s Marco van Ginkel is open to a move after recovering from a bad injury. Even though he had high hopes he would become a team regular back in 2013 when he first came to Stamford Bridge, the Dutchman has lost his confidence over time. Since signing with the Blues, he has managed only 4 appearances and was mostly focused on recovering from his knee injury which he overcame back in March. The 21 year old faces tough competition for a spot in the starting line-up and will probably become a third or even fourth choice at best. According to Metro, his agent does not agree with his player’s situation and will look for alternatives before the end of August.

With Fabregas and Matic set to dominate the mid-section of the pitch and with Van Ginkel lacking the necessary confidence to handle important matches, it is very unlikely to see the youngster perform in more than 10 games this season. The player is now awaiting an answer from Chelsea who are expected to deliver some useful information regarding his future. The 21 year old midfielder will want to play after being benched for such a long time. It is clear though that Stamford Bridge is not the place for him right now.

Because he is a promising young footballer, Van Ginkel will probably be sent on loan just like Marin or Moses. Both might represent great future alternatives for Mourinho who is set on building a team filled with young players.
