Lukaku’s Future Still Unclear

The young striker could come in as a third option for Chelsea’s attack after Demba Ba agreed to a loan deal for the next season. With Costa eager to show what all the fuss was about and also to prove that his World Cup performance was just a fluke, and with Torres being given what is probably his last chance, Lukaku will have to struggle to make the first team. The 21 year old who always had trouble agreeing with his club, will probably get the chance to fight for his spot.

Both Torres and Costa are in indifferent form especially when compared with Lukaku who not only had a great season with Everton, but also made himself noticed while in Brazil. Despite insisting on several occasions that his future is more than likely to allow him to call Chelsea his former club, circumstances could obligate Lukaku and Chelsea’s management to sort out their problems for the greater good.

Strangely enough, Chelsea had trouble finding a striker despite having Lukaku in their back yard all the time. The striker was one of the most efficient players in the Premier League two seasons in a row but that still did not convince Mourinho he is worthy of becoming his first choice.

According to the Daily Mail, Lukaku was expected to move to Atletico in a more complex deal which involved Filipe Luis. Apparently things got sorted out and now the Belgian was no longer used as a way to tilt the balance in Chelsea’s favor in the deal so he may now yet remain in West London but the saga is set to continue for a good while yet we think.
