Lukaku Poised For Everton Switch After Drogba Signing

The way has seemingly been cleared for Romelu Lukaku to make his switch to Everton permanent, after his parent club Chelsea decided to bring back legend Didier Drogba to Stamford Bridge on a one-year contract, as reported in the Express.

The summer transfer window is well underway and teams are looking to finalise their squads as they prepare for the new season to begin. The majority of big deals have already been secured as managers look to train a full squad in their preseason tours.

Drogba has led the Chelsea attack for several golden years, and the Stamford Bridge faithful will only cherish a return of the Ivorian. However, on this occasion, Drogba will be a motivator for the younger crop of players that will step up into the first team this season. Also, the arrival of Diego Costa from Athletico Madrid will add a wealth of talent at Jose Mourinho’s disposal.

Lukaku signed for Chelsea in 2011 as a young star from Anderlecht, and has been on loan ever since. Ironically, it was Drogba’s presence in the first team that pushed Lukaku for a move away from the club when he arrived. And the same would be true if Lukaku again decides to move, but of course on a permanent deal on this occasion.
