Liverpool To Sign Torres For Revival?

Fernando Torres continues to struggle at his new loan club AC Milan having scored just one goal since the start of the season, and the Chelsea striker could be sent back to Stamford Bridge while Liverpool are hot favourites to secure his signature in an attempt to revive their stuttering campaign, according to Metro.

Chelsea have got off to an excellent start to the Barclays Premier League season, and have by far been the best team in the country. The Blues are on top of the league with a three-point lead over title holders Manchester City, and the signing of Diego Costa seems to have triggered a sense of confidence in their attacking play. The Spaniard has been scoring at a staggering rate of over a goal in each game in the league, and the former Atletico Madrid star seems to have overcome the difficulty Fernando Torres faced during his torrid spell in London.

Liverpool, on the other hand, who finished runners up in the Premier League last season, have struggled to recreate the magic of last year’s campaign. Club captain Steven Gerrard has turned 34 this year, and announced his retirement from international football this season. The midfielder’s impact has seen a hit inevitably with the physical demands of the game.

Torres’ signing would certainly raise hopes for Liverpool supporters, who have seen ‘El Nino’ once torment Premier League defences in his first spell in England but would the Spaniard return to his old stomping grounds when so far he has turned down similar chances to go back to old club Atletico Madrid?
