Key Injury Sustained In United Clash

The Chelsea manager felt the Chelsea v Man Utd match on Monday was a tough encounter which Man U started off much the better. In the bosses words he thought United were the better team early in the 1st half but Chelsea came back into it after the sub-par first half and really game United all they could handle in the latter part of the second half after again starting slowly in the second stanza. In the first 20 mins United were dominant and went ahead through a brilliantly taken Jesse Lingard goal but Chelsea did fight back and got back into the game somewhat for the rest of the half.

In the 2nd half it started much the same with United in the ascendancy but the Blues fought back to make it much more of a game and after studying the game Hiddink thought they perhaps they deserved a point and felt justified when Diego Costa scored with a left foot tap in after rounding United keeper David De Gea to make the scores 1-1.

Costa scored with 3 minutes of the 6 minutes left in injury time caused by the injury to Zouma. Costa has now scored 7 goals in his past 8 games and might be starting to focus a little more on his play rather than his on-field histrionics and it shows. Despite still being unbeaten under Guus Hiddink this season, Chelsea are winless in four consecutive Premier League home games for the first time since November 2012.

The injury to the Chelsea central defender looked very serious and Guus Hiddink reckons the injury suffered by Kurt Zouma does not look good but they will wait for his scan results this week and then reassess how long he might be on the sidelines. So under sad circumstances it may make JT’s return to Stamford Bridge more likely.
