Key Chelsea Players To Meet Conte As Belgium Face Italy @ Euro16

Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois will be facing their future manager as Belgium take on Italy at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais. Chelsea’s two key players will get a taste of what Chelsea will look like next season as Conte is expected to implement the same formation for the Blues. It will be the first time Conte gets to see his future pupils up close as well which is important especially in Hazard’s case who had a pretty bad season. Even though he insisted that he will stay at Stamford Bridge regardless of what Conte asks from him, it will still be a good moment to impress the Italian who will be keeping a close eye on Belgium’s captain. Both Italy and Belgium are expected to get passed the group stage with Hazard and Courtois’ team being favorite. Aside from the fact that Conte will be facing two of his most important players from next season, he will also be facing one of his favorite transfer targets.

Roma’s Radja Nainggolan has been linked to Chelsea at least once a week since Conte took over. Apparently, the Italian manager is very keen on bringing the Belgium midfielder to Stamford Bridge in order to increase ball circulation when it comes to the attack and security when it comes to defense. Nainggolan has admitted to be fond of Conte’s playing style but rejected all speculation of his transfer to Chelsea. According to the Evening Standard, things may change after the game against Italy and also after spending time next to Hazard and Courtois who publically admitted they want their compatriot to join the Blues. Nainggolan would be the box-to-box midfielder who can increase pressure, recover and take control over the midfield section. He is a combination between Fabregas and Matic only with a bit more speed and with a knack for hard tackles. It wouldn’t be the first time business is done after an international game and honestly no Chelsea fan would mind if Conte tried convincing Nainggolan to sign with the Blues. Hopefully Hazard and Courtois will be able to convince the 28-year-old to cut his Roma contract short and request for a transfer.

Aside from Nainggolan there’s one more player who might need some nudging in the right direction. It`s none other than Romelu Lukaku who is seriously considering a return to Stamford Bridge now that Mourinho is no longer with the club. Rumors of Costa leaving could determine Conte to try and convince Lukaku he could actually play for the Blues in real life not just in FIFA (Lukaku admitted Chelsea is his first pick when playing on the console). The striker would be a massive boost for Chelsea’s attack and would probably be the best fit out of all the players linked to a move to London. Even if Higuain, Cavani or Aubameyang sound great, there’s no guarantee they will be able to handle the rigors of the Premier League.
