Icardi To Choose Chelsea Over Other English Clubs

Mauro Icardi’s blistering form for the Nerazzurri this season has seen him being linked with a move away from the club in January with many top clubs interested in his services. The striker has netted 12 goals in 20 games for Inter this season and has been targeted by Liverpool, Spurs and Atletico Madrid.

However, the Argentina striker would prefer a move to Chelsea, according to Metro. The Blues have Didier Drogba and Loic Remy to support the somewhat injury-prone Diego Costa in attack, and Mourinho is planning to bring in another striker in January.

Chelsea will have been boosted with the news that Inter could sell the 21-year-old to a ‘big club’. Inter director Piero Fassone said, “I’ve learned that no player is off the market in football, it doesn’t work that way. It’s possible to keep Icardi and [Mateo] Kovacic although there are other clubs have more appeal than us. I’m confident that Icardi, Kovacic and Dodo want to stay with us. If then a big club arrives that wants them, at some point it would be right to make them happy.”
