Hart: We Must Defeat Chelsea

Joe Hart has suggested he is enjoying the club’s string of big matches, but has urged his team to step up to the mark by beating Chelsea in the Barclays Premier League this weekend, after Manchester City were beaten marginally by German champions Bayern Munich in the Champions League, as reported by the Telegraph.

Hart was undoubtedly City’s best player in the tie, after making a string of world class saves to prevent some of the most lethal attackers from scoring at the Allianz Arena. Pep Guardiola shaped his side for the night in an attacking fashion, and had the privilege of bringing on Arjen Robben from the bench. Thomas Mueller had several chances, but Hart was equal to every attempt on goal, until Jerome Boateng’s deflected half volley on the edge of the box found its way in the back of the net. The defender’s celebration was understandable, after failing to win a starting eleven berth while at City in the recent past.

Chelsea have been unbeaten in the Premier League this season, and are already making their intentions for the season clear, and that is to dethrone City from the title. However, Manuel Pellegrini’s squad depth will help push the side to get results, and the manager needs some positive results after failing to get maximum points in the first few games. The Blues will look to remain unbeaten, as they sit at the top of the league table.
