Filipe Luis Takes Comfort In Off Pitch Moments

Brazilian defender Filipe Luis has gotten a great boost in morale. The 29 year old who has had trouble acclimatising to Premier League football is now the proud father of a healthy girl who he and his wife named Sara. Despite failing to make a significant impression at Stamford Bridge yet, Luis looks happier than ever. According to the Daily Mail, Sara is the greatest gift God could have given him. Hopefully, the fact that off pitch, his life seems to be pretty perfect, will help his on pitch performance.

Chelsea spent £16million on the 29 year old left-back who up until now only played for a mere couple of minutes. When he moved to Stamford Bridge, he seemed the perfect solution to replace Ashley Cole and also help Azpiliqueta return to his natural right-back position. Luis failed to impress though. His performance against Schalke looked promising but he did not seem ready to replace the Spanish defender.

Mourinho insisted that Luis would come to Stamford Bridge to play which means it might just be a matter of time until the Brazilian will finally claim his spot. Even if Azpiliqueta is not the player to complain, he is clearly better off on the right side of the pitch. It is going to be hard for Luis to change the current layout of the team considering the fact that Chelsea are first in the Premier League. The Brazilian looks a better fit for the Champions League where he will probably make most of his appearances this season.
