Falcao’s Chelsea Move Studied

So after a torrid loan spell at Manchester United last season, Radamel Falcao is set to give the Premier League another shot with Chelsea as he looks to rekindle his name as one of the hottest strikers in the world.

Faclao netted on just 4 occasions for Manchester United last season in what was a disappointing loan spell. The loan had a lot of promise and potential, United were keen to sign the Colombian on a permanent deal if his form hit its previous heights, but it wasn’t to be.

Yesterday, the 29-year-old Colombia international signed for Chelsea on another loan deal, with the option to make the deal permanent. The striker will hope to give England another go, and it is highly anticipated that he will put behind his anterior cruciate ligament injury that he suffered last year, an injury which kept him out of much of 2014.

Falcao will form a partnership with former Atletico Madrid team-mate Diego Costa, and it is believed that Falcao will play second fiddle to the Spanish international, meaning the 29-year-old will more than likely find himself on the bench.

Upon joining Chelsea, Falcao said on the Official Chelsea Website: “I am very happy to be joining Chelsea.”

“I can’t wait to start training, to help with our aim of retaining the league title and being successful in Europe.”

Falcao is a striker who scored 72 goals in two seasons for Porto, and a further 70 goals for Atletico Madrid in another two seasons. He has since seen his form rapidly decline, but many believe Chelsea and indeed Jose Mourinho will help get the best out of Falcao once again.
