Fabregas Looking To Beat Henry’s Assist Record

Joining Chelsea was one of the best decisions Fabregas made in his career. After a poor series of choices that got him sitting mostly on the bench at Barcelona, he is now fighting to beat Henry’s Premier League assist record. The Frenchman who leads the ranks with 20 passes which turned into goals, is closely followed by Arsenal’s former captain who is now 5 assists back and has a good couple of months until the end of the season to catch up. According to the Daily Mail, the Spaniard knew that he would fit in perfectly at Stamford Bridge right after he received the offer. Apparently, the 27 year old made a plan and sorted out all the variables involved in his transfer back to London. The main thing he had to consider was the team he would be joining especially in terms of the squad.

The former Gunner decided to accept Mourinho’s offer after making sure he had a spot in the starting eleven. He seems to have got it right this time as Chelsea have become quite addicted to his qualities as a midfielder. Fabregas has fitted in perfectly with the group and is the assist leader for the Blues. It is his favorite position as he recently revealed during a short discussion with the press. Even though he did not concentrate on the fact that he could become the assist record holder for one Premier League season, it was obvious that beating Henry would be a great honor and a great achievement for Fabregas.
