Fabregas Looking Great Next To Matic And Costa

Spaniard, Cesc Fabregas could become a key player in Chelsea’s starting line-up. Even though most thought that the Blues did not need another midfielder, Arsenal’s former captain seems set to prove them wrong. According to Metro, he managed an impressive performance during the friendly match against NK Ljubljana and got fans cheering. Fabregas who insisted he was promised a chance to showcase his skill and usefulness for the team, looked like the perfect link between the midfield and the offensive line. Even though Oscar and Ramires were team regulars, the Spaniard might change that. One of the two Brazilians who have yet to return after their World Cup campaign will have to swap places with Fabregas who looks in better shape than both of them.

Fabregas also impressed for Chelsea vs Vitesse Arnhem a couple of nights ago as he scored his first Chelsea goal with a sweet curling free kick showing that he is more than capable of filling Frank Lampard’s boots.

Oscar suffered inconsistent form from the middle of last season just as Ramires did. Both failed to impress and both lacked solid performances late in the campaign. Fabregas on the other hand looks like a perfect combination between the two. He is defensive enough to keep the midfield line intact but he is also a great passer who can help Costa shine. Pairing him with Matic gave the team a lot more confidence and also provided the attack with some very useful assists.

Fabregas is quite versatile but will most likely become a team regular and perform in a similar position as he did while at Arsenal but hopefully this spell in London will lead to many trophies unlike his last time in London with Arsenal.
