Even The FA Think Mourinho Is Coming Back

The possible or is it definite return of Jose Mourinho to Chelsea is the most talked about story in football at the moment and it is viewed as simply a matter of time until the Special One is announced as Chelsea FC manager.

Mourinho was in charge of Real Madrid for the last time yesterday and he signed off with a 4-2 win over Osasuna as his team were much the better side. Real got goals from Higuain, Essien then Osasuna tied it at 2-2 before Benzema and Callejón put them ahead for good with the final 2 goals of the Mourinho era.

The Special One is leaving the Spanish club with one Copa del Rey, one La Liga title and the 2012 Supercopa de España to show for his stay there. Mourinho could not deliver a Champions League win to the Bernabeu faithful which will be disappointing to him but still many fans were cheering Mourinho yesterday and of course there were a few booing too.

Anyway Real Madrid’s loss is now Chelsea’s gain or at least that’s what the English Football Association reported earlier on today according to Sky Sports News. The FA had a story on their official website confirming that Mourinho was returning to manage Chelsea. This has not been officially confirmed yet so the FA had to embarrassingly take the story down off their webiste and they promptly issued an apology to Chelsea Football Club for their error.

So now that the La Liga season has ended and Jose Mourinho has officially finished his association with Real Madrid surely we can expect the announcement of his reappointment as Chelsea boss imminently, in fact it may have happened while I have been writing this piece…
