Eto’o Reveals Guardiola Hostility

According to Marca, Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o has spoken about his hostile relationship with former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola, and has talked about how the Spaniard tried to teach lessons on attacking while he was a midfielder himself in his playing days.

The striker’s senior career began with Real Madrid in 1997, and was dominated by loan spells away from the club. After a four year spell with Mallorca, he made the big move to Barcelona, where he played 145 matches, scoring 108 goals and earning legendary status. However, when Guardiola took over as coach in 2008, things changed quickly. Eto’o was soon on his way to Inter Milan in an exchange deal that saw Zlatan Ibrahimovic join the Catalan giants.

Eto’o claims that Guardiola never respected the striker in the team, and was not happy with the way he was treated. This is not the first time Guardiola’s man management skills have been questioned, as Ibrahimovic has also been seen criticising the current Bayern Munich manager’s ways.

The Cameroonian striker has two months left on his current deal with Chelsea, and has been linked with a move away from England back to Spain and his former club Mallorca.
