Eto’o Could Be Heading To Turkey For Last Big Pay Day

It seems that Samuel Eto’o has officially announced that he is opening talks with other teams. The Blues don’t seem keen on extending the 33 year olds’ contract which means he will be leaving Stamford Bridge at the end of his current deal which expires this summer. Even though one of the reasons for Eto’o’s departure has something to do with Mourinho, the Portuguese manager could be the one to provide the Cameroonian with a one year extension. Despite the club’s policy which is currently focused on youngsters, the striker received an unexpected offer to move to London at the beginning of the past summer.

According to Metro, Eto’o may be heading to Turkey as Besiktas expressed their desire to sign the 33 year old. Rumors have it they have a two year contract lined up for Chelsea’s striker. This could be his last chance to sign a significant deal to perform at the highest level possible. Even so, things are not yet set in stone. There is a chance for him to stay with his current club if all transfer leads turn out bad for the Blues. Chelsea will have to move Torres and Demba Ba if they want to recover some of the money spent on the two. Eto’o on the other hand is a cheaper alternative for Mourinho’s attack as he cost very little to bring in as there was no transfer fee involved.
