Drogba’s Future At Chelsea Put On Hold

Drogba’s Future At Chelsea Put On Hold

Jose Mourinho has yet to sit down and talk with Didier Drogba about his future. The Ivorian’s contract will expire this summer and apparently no talks are being held regarding his collaboration with the club. Even though he has an excellent relationship with the team’s management and has been nominated as one of the most iconic players ever to play at Stamford Bridge, Drogba is not certain he will continue with the Blues in any role. According to the Daily Star, the Portuguese boss is rumored to be refusing negotiations at least until Chelsea are crowned Premier League Champions.

The problem with Drogba is that he is still planning on playing for a couple of years. Despite turning 37 a couple of weeks back, he is confident he can do a lot of good for the team that decides to sign him. Chelsea may not be that team though as the Blues have already started looking for a replacement. Adebayor seems to be next in line as the former Arsenal player is out of favour with Spurs.

It will be great to see Drogba stay at Stamford Bridge but unfortunately his plans are not in tune with that of Mourinho. Hopefully Chelsea’s 4th top scorer will continue his stay in London and help motivate and train some of the up and coming talents who would benefit massively from having a strong personality and club legend next to them.
