Does Moses Have A Chelsea Future?

The Blues snapped up Victor Moses from Wigan in August 2012 for an undisclosed fee believed to be in the region of £9 million. However, the winger has failed to live up to his reputation at Stamford Bridge and has been subsequently loaned to Stoke City this season.

He spent last season on loan as well, but hardly got game time at Liverpool with Brendan Rodgers settling on a winning formula which did not include Moses in the first team. If he failed to impress Rodgers and get into a top four side, it seems his Chelsea future is not looking to bright either.

However, Moses has enjoyed bit of a renaissance at the Britannia Stadium and has been electric in the opening stages for the Potters. He was very impressive in their 1-0 win over Newcastle a week ago on Monday night football with his pace causing all sorts of problems for the Magpies. Unfortunately in Stoke City’s game this week, Moses limped off after only about 20mins with a thigh injury as the Stoke Sentinel are reporting and the winger might well be out for 3 weeks including the upcoming internationals where he was due to play for Nigeria.

Stoke chairman Peter Coates believes it is too early to fuel talks of permanently signing Moses. He said, “Although we are delighted with the start he has made for us, it is still very early days and so where that one goes I have no idea. We haven’t even discussed it yet because we are so early into the season and such a lot can happen, so there is no sense of urgency.”

He added, “I’m just pleased with what he has produced so far and pleased that we have him for the whole season. He’s hard-working, quick, clever and looks a very good player. He’s not played a lot of games, so who knows, he could improve. But it’s certainly nice for him as well to have got off to such a good start with us.”

Do you think Moses should be given a second chance at Stamford Bridge?
