de Bruyne Rules Out Arsenal Move

Kevin de Bruyne’s agent has confirmed the player will not be moving back to the Barclays Premier League, after the midfielder’s disastrous spell at Chelsea was followed by a move to Wolfsburg where he is playing regular football, something which was missing in London, according to the Daily Star.

The Gunners are trying their best to add more signings to the squad, but the January window comes with its limitations and conditions. The club selling a player must have a replacement ready and that leads to complications as a first team player leaving a club can disrupt the balance of the squad. The worst situation for some clubs would be to sell a player and not have enough time to secure a replacement signing. Also, supporters are always anxious about their star players being sold to bigger clubs, and hence put pressure on the club hierarchy to stay put unless an inflated offer is put on the table. Arsenal have generally been sensible buyers in the transfer market, and barring Mesut Ozil’s big money move from Real Madrid, have not spent over the top for a player.

de Bruyne began his career in native Belgium where Genk signed the player for the youth academy. Soon, the 23-year old made an impression and was offered a professional contract. After a big move to Chelsea, the Belgian international played at Genk and Werder Bremen on loan before sealing a move to Wolfsburg.
