Craziest Chelsea Transfer Speculation Yet This Window?

When it comes to Chelsea transfer speculation we are rarely surprised here at ChelseaNews.com as when a club is as successful as Chelsea, is managed as well as Chelsea, is as well-supported as Chelsea and is backed by a passionate well-resourced ambitious owner there are always going to be top players linked with the club and rumored big name departures.

This latest transfer story is really rather crazy to say the least and we were incredulous when we read it. According to Sky Sports, Club Captain John Terry (he the player, the legend who has played all his 488 senior games for Chelsea, scoring 40 goals over his 18 seasons with the club where he has won numerous trophies like the League Title, Champions League, FA Cup and the list goes on) has been linked with a loan move to Bournemouth. Yes you read it right – a LOAN to BOURNEMOUTH!!

As the story goes the mythical and mysterious “Sky Sources” reported earlier in the week that the Cherries had expressed an interest in making a deal to bring the former England Captain to the Vitality Stadium on a loan deal for the rest of the campaign – Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has come out and categorically denied the story saying:

“No. No negotiations with Chelsea at all, I admire John Terry greatly as a footballer, he’s one of my favourite ever central defenders.

“When I looked at people when I was playing to try and emulate and get close to, he was one that I followed but there’s been no discussions and no meeting. Nothing.”

This move makes no sense at all as John Terry has been injured much of the season and in what is widely viewed to be his last season at Stamford Bridge where he has won so much and is a club legend (not to mention still club captain) and is a 1 club man only having a brief spell at Nottingham Forest as a youth why would Terry want to leave “his beloved” Chelsea? Just to play a few more games? Even if JT has struggled for game time under Conte, in a vital game the Italian boss will want the option to turn to the experience of Terry who has seen it all before. Plus Chelsea are looking good for the title and he only needs to make 5 League appearances and he gets a medal which Conte will likely facilitate as long as it does not jeopardise the title..

The only slight sub-text to this is that Chelsea have recalled impressive young defender Nathan Ake from his own Bournemouth loan – half a season early but Antonio Conte likely just wants the best depth and options available to him as he prepares for the push towards the second half and business end of the Premier League. That depth now includes the man, the legendary fit-again  John Terry plus the in-form young buck Nathan Ake – Chelsea are looking good – sorry Bournemouth!!
