Could Solanke Be Better Than An Injured Diego Costa vs Arsenal?

Chelsea’s game against Arsenal is surely giving Mourinho a headache. Not only will it be a tactical challenge to face Wenger but it could also be a great risk if treated like the key game on the road to claiming Premier League glory. The Special one has to decide if sacrificing a player like Costa is worth it in order to defeat the Gunners. He will have to set everything in balance and figure out of it would be best to have the Spaniard for the last couple of fixtures or if Drogba and Remy are enough.

The other way to go about claiming the Premier League title would be to play 17 year old Dominic Solanke who has managed 19 goals and 6 assists in the 22 games he has played this season. The youngster was on the bench against United and was expected to start in favor of Drogba. Mourinho decide to play it safe and used the experienced Ivorian who played his part well in defeating the Red Devils. Unfortunately, that is no longer an option as Drogba picked up an injury.

According to NBC Sports, Remy’s calf strain and Costa’s hamstring problems have elevated Solanke up to being the number one pick. His lack of experience could cost Chelsea and this is not the moment to risk it. On the other hand, the 17 year old might have the enthusiasm and the talent to help the Blues win the game and Premier League. Some say that Hazard could also be an option as well given last year’s performance when he ended the season as the team’s top scorer. Surely Mourinho will figure it out by Sunday when Arsenal will be ready to give it their all in order to narrow the gap between them and first place and keep alive their faint hopes of taking the Premier League crown to North London.
