It`s very complicated to predict what will happen after Conte takes over. Will he continue building on the current youth in the squad? Will he be signing one or two major players or will he be swapping the Blues’ current talent with new names? We already know that Falcao is going so that leaves room to sign a £100k-a-week player. Negotiations with Roma’s Radja Nainggolan seem pretty close to completion. Even newcomers like Rahman are linked to a move. Looking at the names mentioned above, you can’t say you would be surprised to see any of them leave. On the other hand, there are some Chelsea stars no one would like to see leave.
It is inevitable that during harsh times for transfers rumors not to emerge. First there was the whole Hazard to Real thing. It`s not that plausible of a rumor and it will prove to be just a piece of gossip very soon. Conte will very likely count on the Belgium International who despite a poorish season, still looks like the player to become Chelsea’s leader. Then there was Costa who was supposed to return back to Atletico. The only way that will happen is if he ends up like Torres which again is not something that will happen very soon. One of the latest rumors says Willian is wanted in China. Even if players like Ramires or Texeira have decided to choose money over glory, that does not seem like the case for the Brazilian who was Chelsea’s best player this season.
The worrying rumor emerged this week though. According to the Mirror, Courtois could be leaving as Conte considers that the club could do without the Belgian keeper. One other important reason for which Courtois might be leaving is the tension between him and some members from the training staff.
Hopefully the Italian will work his magic and manage to do something about Courtois as it is very hard to find a keeper of his quality, especially at such a young age. The only speculated replacement for now is Fraser Forster who is a good keeper but he is not in the same league as Courtois or Cech. Still it would be an incredible shock to see the young Belgian keeper leave West London.
