Conte Talks Carlos Tevez Link

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has spoken out about comments made by Carlos Tevez stating that the Blues have tried to sign him.

The Blues are reportedly in for a striker this summer, despite already signing £33m Michy Batshuayi from Marseille. Alvaro Morata and Alexander Lacazette have both been whispered to be targets of Conte, but more recently, former Manchester United and City striker Carlos Tevez has been linked.

These rumours were further pushed into the fray when Tevez himself insisted that Chelsea were after his signature. However, Conte has quashed these rumours saying that he appreciated Tevez greatly at Juventus, but knows he is happy in his homeland with Boca Juniors.

“Carlos was my player when I was coach at Juventus and I lived with him a fantastic season and I appreciated a lot Carlos as a player and also as a man.” Conte said.

“But now I know he is a player of Boca and he did a lot to go back to Argentina last season and I wish the best for him and his family.”

So it seems Tevez to Chelsea is well wide of the mark, but it isn’t out of the question that Chelsea are still after a new striker this summer, especially as Diego Costa continues to stir the pot with his own transfer rumours.
