Conte Shoots Down Two Major Possible Departures

Conte Shoots Down Two Major Possible Departures

Conte looks determined to make up his own mind on who should stay and who should leave this summer. He refuses to allow departures without seeing Chelsea’s players perform. Even though there are about 50 under contract with the club out of which around 45 could technically play for the Blues next season, The Italian boss will want to be the one taking the decisions. This shows character and should give the fans hope that Chelsea’s new manager will transfer some of his personality to the team.

Not only does Conte not want to say goodbye too quick to any of his players but he also intends on snubbing any rumors that might harm the atmosphere at the club. According to Metro, the first player who gets his peace of mind is outcast Juan Cuadrado who most said he will be joining Juventus for good.  Conte recently stated that the Colombian will not be sent on loan anymore and that he is part of his plans. It will be very interesting to see him compete with Willian and probably Pedro for a spot in the starting eleven. Cuadrado was signed back in January 2015 and despite some decent performances, he was quickly sent away. He proved Mourinho wrong by becoming indispensable for Juventus  and won Serie A during a season Chelsea missed out on any trophy whatsoever.

The second player who will definitely be staying at Stamford Bridge is Diego Costa. The Spaniard was strongly linked to a move to Atletico after a rather unpleasant season for the Blues. His misconduct and lack of efficiency made most think he will be offloaded after just two years spent in London.  Instead he is very likely to be the leading man next to freshman Michy Batshuayi with whom he will form a 2 man attacking line.

There is one more name worth mentioning when it comes to players who will not be leaving Stamford Bridge. Apparently Andreas Christensen will carry on his contract with Chelsea despite a consistent offer coming from Borussia Monchengladbach. The German side offered The Blues almost £14.25 million but they were turned down despite being the ones using the youngster for the past year. He will be allowed to remain on loan in Germany until June 2017.
