Chelsea’s Gael Kakuta Moves Into His 4th Year Away From Stamford Bridge

French winger, Gael Kakuta looks close to putting an end to his contract with Chelsea. The 23 year old who has spent 4 years out of his 5 year contract playing for 6 other teams aside from the Blues, is now in Spain. Even though he was once seen as of the most promising players of his generation, Kakuta has been flying under the radar for quite a while now. Since 2010, he somehow managed to make just under 50 appearances for 6 different teams. According to the Daily Mail, Lens’s former player somehow impressed Chelsea who risked getting banned from the transfer market for a whole year just to sign Kakuta.

Despite going through a lot of trouble to bring in the Frenchman, Chelsea will place him on the transfer list this winter. He just entered his last 12 months of contract and was offered the chance to spend one more season on loan. It is more than obvious that his time at Stamford Bridge is over so to speak. Considering the fact that he has been away from London for several years, saying goodbye will not be a problem. Kakuta is currently one of 26 players on loan. Hopefully for him, Rayo Vallecano will consider a permanent transfer which is pretty hard to imagine given the way his career unfolded over the past four seasons. Mourinho was Kakuta’s last chance of allowing the winger to make a name for himself at Stamford Bridge but sadly it just has not worked out for the Frenchman.
