Chelsea vs Crystal Palace: Predicted XI

Chelsea face Crystal Palace at home on Saturday hoping to secure their second win of the season following a nervy 3-2 win over West Brom last week. The Blues started the new campaign sluggishly, drawing 2-2 with Swansea and losing to rivals Manchester City 3-0. The 3 points against the Baggies last Sunday will have settled a few nerves, but a red card to captain John Terry and a tight encounter at the Hawthorns will make Mourinho wary.

Jose Mourinho’s men will now be looking to get their season underway with a second successive victory, and their first home win of the season. But Alan Pardew’s men stand in the way, and they have already caused quite a bang in the league so far. Palace have won two of their three Premier League games this term, losing only to Arsenal.

Chelsea won the league in the reverse fixture last season, beating the Eagles 1-0. However, Palace have greatly bolstered their squad, and look like a side who can push for a Europa League spot.

Chelsea will be without captain John Terry for the London derby against Palace after he was sent off in the win over West Brom. This should see Gary Cahill pair up with Kurt Zouma in central defence. Mourinho will also have the option of placing new signing Pedro back into the squad after he impressed on his debut.

Palace will see the return of winger Yannick Bolasie after the death of his father, but captain Mile Jedinak will not be available after he suffered a hamstring injury in the win over Shrewsbury in midweek.

Here’s how we think Chelsea will line up against Palace:

Ivanovic – Zouma – Cahill – Azpilicueta

Matic – Fabregas

Pedro – Willian – Hazard
