Chelsea Up For A New Transfer

Mourinho looks keen on signing yet another promising young player. Stuttgart’s Antonio Rudiger has made the Portuguese’s list who is clearly set on bringing all of Europe’s finest to Stamford Bridge. According to Metro, Chelsea will make a move on the 21 year old during January. Even with 26 players out on loan and with a lot that could make any team envious, The Blues look eager to continue spending big. Their latest target is Bundesliga sensation Antonio Rudiger who is seen as John Terry’s replacement. With the captain set on retiring in a year or two, Mourinho is already creating alternatives. Zouma is being integrated in the team and is probably going to be first in line to lead Chelsea’s defensive line.

Rudiger has come up on Chelsea’s radar after the Londoners’ negotiations with Real fell through. They wanted to sign French international Raphael Varane who has already made a name for himself despite being extremely young. The Spaniards are asking £40million which seems a bit much even for Abramovich’s side if you consider what players are available for that much money. Even though Varane is good he is not as experienced and influential as Vermaelen, Pepe or Ramos, none of which are worth as much.

Stuttgart’s player is expected to cost £7million. He represents an alternative as well as an investment with Chelsea probably being able to sell him for a lot more than that in a couple of years.
