Chelsea Transfer Update Plus News On Mou’s Next Move

Many Blues fans have had a hard time comprehending that Jose Mourinho would take the manager’s job at Manchester United or that he would even be offered the job given the fact that Louis van Gaal appeared to be leading United to an FA Cup win and Champions League qualification following Man City’s various slip-ups. United had a great opportunity to qualify for the World’s premier club competition by having to only secure victory against West Ham away (who they had just beaten to reach the FA Cup final) and to get a win at home vs Bournemouth. Following Wednesday night’s 3-2 capitulation vs the Hammers where they were leading with less than 20minutes to go, United’s season has gone horribly wrong as the result against Bournemouth is now irrelevant.

Now that the Champions League is no longer an option for United it seems the chances of Louis van Gaal staying at United appear to be rather slim and the rumours of Jose Mourinho having to wait a year before being offered the job at Old Trafford seem unlikely as even if United win the FA Cup , the United board may find it too hard to resist to take the opportunity to appoint the “Special One” while they still can.

In another Chelsea transfer rumour this time regarding a player, Nemanja Matic has been heavily linked by the likes of TEAMtalk to a move to Juventus. However, now that the Jose Mourinho to United story has jumped back onto the front burner it seems that the Serbian defensive midfielder is more interested in joining up with his former manager by signing for the Red Devils and staying in the Premier League should the stars align and the Blues be willing to sell to one of their main rivals. It was clear for all to see from Matic’s goal celebration against Sunderland last weekend or should we say his lack of goal celebration that he may not be so happy in West London anymore.

In what has to be the most on-again-off-again transfer saga of the season John Terry is rumoured to be interested in moving to the USA. His supposed other option is that he is being tempted by a 2 year deal for £500,000 a week, so a £12 million deal overall to play for a Chinese Super League club. Terry has been a Blue since the age of 14 years of age, but he has been suspended for the last 2 games of this season after getting sent off vs Sunderland last Saturday. While he may have played his last game for Chelsea as his 1st suspended game included the 1-1 draw vs Liverpool at Anfield last night he has said over and over he wants to finish his career as a Blue and that Chelsea are his team. It is a terrible shame he is also suspended for what could be his last Chelsea match and the visit of former boss Claudio Ranieri’s Barclays Premier League Champions Leicester City to Stamford Bridge on Sunday May 15th at 3pm as JT would dearly have loved to be playing and to be part of the guard of honour planned for the popular ex-Chelsea manager.

Guus Hiddink has weighed in on the JT matter and has said that it is simply a case of Antonio Conte officially being installed as the Chelsea boss before commenting on the John Terry contract matter but that making the announcement that John Terry is staying at Chelsea is merely a formality. All will be revealed in good time then it would seem.
