Chelsea To Use Unexpected Trading Coin For Falcao

Chelsea have been linked to Falcao on several occasions this month. The Colombian who said his goodbyes to Manchester United has to return to Monaco from where he is expected to leave for London. Nothing certain hit the press other than Mourinho’s statement that he thinks he can actually revive Falcao thus hinting to a possible deal. According to Metro, Chelsea might have received the green light to bring in the former Atletico man though as Monaco show interest in one or two of the Blues’ very impressive youth team.

Apparently Loftus-Cheek could be the key that will allow Falcao to join his former Atletico colleague, Diego Costa. The 19 year old had a great season that hit a small bump at the end. He was characterized as a not very hard-working player by Mourinho who publically criticized the youngster after a poor performance during a training match. With that in mind, a move to France could be plausible.

Monaco are looking to rebuild and mostly to move players that have salaries similar to that of Falcao who is rumored only to be surpassed in terms of wage by Ronaldo, Neymar, Messi and Ibrahimovic. It is clear that the French project has failed with the big-name signings and that paying Falcao his £14m per year is not an option anymore. Even if the Colombian drops his financial expectations, he will still not be able to leave that easily given his form. Even so, Monaco are asking to get money and one of three players: Loftus-Cheek, Nathan Ake or Andreas Christensen to move to France. As mentioned before, Loftus-Cheek has the biggest chance to be the one bringing Falcao to Stamford Bridge.
