Chelsea To Bring In Unexpected Replacement For Drogba

Mourinho seems to be on a shopping spree as he prepares to sign a second player even before the season ends. According to Metro, Bursaspor’s Enes Unal is Chelsea’s new target and might just be the perfect replacement for Drogba who is leaving at the end of the June. The 18 year old striker who made 31 appearances for the Turkish side has scored 4 times and has attracted much attention his way. Currently valued at about £7million, Unal is a relatively unknown footballer but shows immense potential. Spending a season at Stamford Bridge even as a third option for Chelsea’s attack could turn him into a star just like it happened with Hazard. Rumors have it that it is either the youngster from Bursa or Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko who will compete for a spot in Mourinho’s starting line-up.

Even though Unal proved himself on a couple of occasions, the question of why would Chelsea sign him still remains. It is true that at only 18 years of age he was called to represent Turkey and that since his debut for Bursa in the summer of 2013 he scored 7 goals but is he really the player to focus on right now? With names like Lacazette, Cavani or Benzema linked to departures from their current team there is no actual point in paying £7million for the Turkish International. On the other hand Nathan’s transfer is no different and has sounded just as strange at first when the Brazilian posted Instagram pictures relating him to Chelsea. Regardless of what choice Mourinho makes, all will be good if the Blues maintain a high scoring rate and continue winning trophies.
