Chelsea Target West Ham’s Aaron Cresswell

Chelsea Target West Ham’s Aaron Cresswell

The Blues have directed their attention towards 25 year old Aaron Cresswell who impressed since leaving Ipswich to join West Ham. According to Metro, the left-back who is now a team regular for the Hammers, has grown incredibly fast since his Premier League debut and is now on the radar of several important teams. To be fair, the shortage of left-backs is working in his favor especially in terms of popularity. Not many options are available right now for clubs like Chelsea to be interested in. Cresswell who is now valued at about £5m, looks like he has all he needs to compete with Azpilicueta. Even though the Spaniard seems impossible to replace right now, West Ham’s left-back could have a chance to become a team regular. With rumors that Ivanovic will be leaving, it is very likely to see Chelsea’s Spanish defender return to his natural spot. With him on the right, Cresswell would be given a major chance to prove he is worthy of playing at Stamford Bridge.

Even though some might say that transferring him might not be the most impressive of moves, the 25 year old looks like he could be worth a shot. He has incredible accuracy in his crosses, he often shows up in the box to score and he is excellent at set pieces. He has speed, a great left foot and a heightened offensive appetite which is very similar to what Chelsea experienced when Ashley Cole was on the pitch. All in all, Cresswell would be a nice addition to the team.
