Chelsea Target 22 Year Old Japan International

Chelsea Target 22 Year Old Japan International

Chelsea are tapping into the Asian market in hope of finding new and exciting talent. The relationship established with Yokohama Tires will facilitate their scouting in the region and will also increase their exposure among Asian players who could become more tempted to move to Europe. The Blues could start making moves as soon as this summer The Guardian reports. Mourinho is rumored to have set his eyes on Japan superstar Yoshinori Muto who will be subject of a £4m bid designed to bring the 22 year old to Stamford Bridge. The news has been somewhat confirmed by a Japanese publication which mentioned the fact that an offer has already been sent to Tokyo.

Yoshinori Muto could be more of a marketing initiative rather than a replacement for Drogba which would have been the obvious purpose of signing the Japanese international in the first place. The 22 year old is known for being very fast and skilful. He is also versatile, performing often as a winger as well as a center forward.

Muto’s transfer could benefit Chelsea a lot especially when combined with the Yokohama deal. The Blues could start to catch up to Manchester United and Arsenal who have been on top of the Asian fans’ preferences for a while now if Muto makes an impression on the Chelsea first team squad. It will be challenging though at first for the player, as rumors already say that Muto will be sent on loan to Vitesse as soon as he signs a deal with Chelsea.
