Chelsea Still Pushing For Raphael Varane

In an attempt to rejuvenate the entire team, Mourinho is insisting on signing one more talented youngster. Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane has made the headlines once again after rumors regarding his possible departure have made it to the internet. According to Metro, the Frenchman who was brought in by Mourinho while he was in Madrid, is not willing to continue with his current club where he is no longer a first choice for the starting line-up. The young defender could be paired up with Zouma who is also one of the most promising defenders in European football.

Varane is valued at £25million especially after a great World Cup. The Spanish side also look interested in selling him considering things are not well between the player and Real Madrid’s managerial staff. Chelsea have had a great transfer strategy managing to land three star players each ready to fill a different position on the pitch. After signing Fabregas, Diego Costa and Filipe Luis, it looks like bringing in Varane is just a matter of days away.

The 21 year old defender has made 38 appearances for Real since joining the Spanish side back in 2011. He made most of those appearances while Mourinho was manager. Ancelotti does not seem as keen as the Portuguese to use Varane despite his excellent performances and impressive skills. Hopefully the Frenchman will join Chelsea considering he is one of the most promising players around.
