Chelsea Star Targeted By Juventus

Juventus are keen on signing Chelsea winger Juan Cuadrado this summer, according to reports in Italy.

The Serie A champions are looking to strengthen their squad after an unsettled summer, which has seen them lose Carlos Tevez already as well as Paul Pogba, Pirlo and Vidal likely to leave.

The 27-year-old has made just 12 appearances for the Premier League champions since arriving in January for £26 million, not the start to life he’d have hoped to have at Chelsea.

Alessandro Lucci, Cuadrado’s agent, recently came out and said his client had no interest in leaving Stamford Bridge.

“Juan is fine at Chelsea for now, we’ll see about later.”

“He’s happy, and the club is happy with him, so for now we’re comfortable.”

However, according to reports in Italy, Juventus have apparetly made Cuadrado their number 1 priority this summer. The Colombian has just led his country to the quarter finals of the Copa America, and is now on holiday. Whether or not he has had contract with Juventus remains to be seen.

Mourinho though, earlier spoke about the quality gap between Serie A and the Premier League, here’s what he had to say about Cuadrado:

“He needs time.”

“I know Italy and I know the difference between Italy and England. His formation, his development, his experience – everything was in Italy. Stability, time, integration – I think we will see the best Cuadrado next year.”

There’s definitely more to come from the Colombian, let’s hope he gets the chance next season to show his worth.
