Chelsea Star Announces Return To Stamford Bridge

Chelsea have a lot to look forward to as Didier Drogba recently announced his future is with the London side. According to Metro, the Ivorian striker was promised a spot at the club as soon as he decides to retire and start focusing on his coaching career. The 37-year-old who managed to score 12 goals in his last 12 games for Montreal Impact released this piece of information with his autobiography entitled “Commitment”. Apparently, the rumors that he will become a member in the club’s managerial staff are somewhat true. Before his deal with Chelsea ended, many suggested that he might stay as an assistant coach for the youth team which he even had the chance to work with once or twice.

If what is said in Drogba’s autobiography and Abramovich really wants him at the club, there is a chance to see the striker join the Blues as soon as this summer. He is still capable of performing and he could stay in MLS for a couple of months longer though.

Drogba also talks about his relationship with Mourinho and about the influence the Portuguese boss has among players. The winning attitude described by the Ivorian in his book seems to be the path he will embrace as well. It is a suitable one for the striker who has always shown incredible determination and focus regardless of the competition or the prize. Hopefully fans will get to see him start training Chelsea’s future stars who would have a lot to learn from a club legend.
